The existing carport was deconstructed and recycled into framing for a new zero energy straw bale garage and studio space.  A small photovoltaic system flush mounted to the roof provides grid tied renewable power.   Reclaimed solar hot water panels provide radiant heat in concrete floors on both levels.  Exposed wood beams and metal timber connections are designed to make the building ultimately recyclable.
